More than
a
therapist

About me

Hi, I'm Jazmina, founder of Silver Linings Counselling & Psychotherapy.

If you've found yourself here, chances are life feels heavier than you'd like it to. Whatever has brought you here, I'm really glad you've found your way to this space.

I believe therapy shouldn't feel clinical or intimidating. It should feel like somewhere you can finally exhale. A place where you don't have to pretend you're okay. A place where you can simply be yourself.

My Story

Why I became a therapist

People often assume therapists have always had everything figured out.

The truth is, my journey into counselling began because I needed it myself.

When I was 15, my mental health began to deteriorate. I experienced intense anxiety, ponic attacks, depression and agoraphobia. For years I felt unheard, misunderstood and desperate for answers.

Therapy helped me understand myself, build self-awareness, develop healthier ways of coping and slowly reconnect with who I was beneath the anxiety.

Those experiences planted the seed for the career I have today. They showed me just how powerful it is to be genuinely heard.

Not because someone fixed me, but because for the first time, somebody really listened.

The therapist I am today

How I show up for you

Over the past decade I've supported adults, children, young people and families through some of life's most difficult moments.

Every person who comes into therapy brings a completely different story.

That's why I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy.

A little more about me

Beyond the therapy room

In my thirties, I discovered something that finally helped many pieces of my own life make sense. After years believing I simply had anxiety, I was diagnosed as ADHD.

It transformed my understanding of myself, my experience and the way I viewed the world.

Being a neurodivergent therapist gives me a personal appreciation of navigating emotional overwhelm, rejection sensitivity, burnout and the pressure so many people feel to constantly fit into a world that wasn't designed for them.

You are welcome exactly as you are.

The relationship is where healing begins.

Qualifications matter. Experience matters.

But above all else, the relationship matters.

Research consistently shows that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of positive outcomes in therapy.

That belief sits at the heart of everything I do.
